Vivi looked at him and said nothing for a moment. "He'll come around eventually." She hoped he would anyway. "If there's anything I can do, talk to him, whatever, let me know."

Kyle turned to her and wrapped his arms around her waist with both hands. He sighed and said, still not really looking at her, "No...that's alright. It's not like he'll listen to you if he didn't listen to me or Shawna. Thanks for the offer though." River watched the two, his blue-green eyes flashing slightly as he saw how comfortable they were with eachother. He gave a sigh and then looked out into the dancing demigods and smiled slightly, if only there were more moments like this. He closed his eyes and his mind seemed to relax and go blank. Nick smiled as he watched Shawna enjoy herself, like a mortal girl should. He sighed, little did the rest of the group know, Shawna and Nick had decided to take a break from dating each other. The stress was too much for the both of them for the time being. They both agreed that if their feelings for each other continued through the next few weeks or even months until the camp was settled, they'd get back together. He knew better than to get inbetween Tony and Shawna, it wouldn't help his cause and it won't help her either. So he leaned back in the chair he was in and relaxed, listening to the conversation that Vivi and Kyle were having. After a few moments of quiet, Nick and River both opened their eyes abruptly and leaped out of their chairs, weapons ready. The other children of the Norse sea gods were also suddenly still and at attention. The lights flickered on and off until the entire lighting system of the ship shut down, along with the music and all the rest of the power. The only think that continued working was the distant hum of the engine many levels bellow them. Kyle stood slowly and cursed, "I knew we'd have trouble from them...but I didn't think it'd be here." River turned to Kyle, his eyes furious, "Who?" The Son of Odin looked up from the ground, his eyes fierce and gripping his wound, as if remembering how it came, "The Valkyrie. They disagreed with the gods about moving the camp. But they'll obey Odin. When I broke one of my promises...well I wasn't granted safe passage to Asgard anymore, so they got to me." You could almost feel the tension of the room thicken at the mention of the Valkyrie. They were Artemis's hunters times 10 and under only Odin's orders. They really didn't like demigods. River held up his new sword, the light glow from the Celestial bronze shimmering in the moonlit room, "Well I guess I'll just have to get to them before they get to us." Kyle grabbed River's arm and said, "It's no use, they know all our fighting techniques, we don't stand a chance." River pulled his arm away, a mischievous grin playing on his face, "They know your techniques, not mine. Plus, they stepped foot in my territory, my home away from home. They are going to regret that." Kyle made a face of slight hesitation but then he toughened up, "Alright, here's what we'll do," he turned to the rest of the camp, "Children of Njord and Aegir, follow River. The rest of you come with me and the rest of the Council members. You have to listen up and follow all of our instructions. With our numbers, and the help of many children of the sea, we should take them easily. Alright...let's move out!" River called out, "Hey, Astor, get over here. I need your help." Nick went over to River and waited for instructions. River gave a nod when all of the children of the sea were here, "Alright, kids of Njord, you guys are the diplomats of us, you'll have to help me reason with this girls before we need to fight. Kids of Aegir, just keep your mouths shut, you all tend to be hot headed and wanting to pick a fight. So keep your mouths closed, and if it comes to a fight, cover Njord kids' tails. Got it?" Nick chuckled at the temper comment but nodded, along with the rest of his siblings, who grumbled right along, not exactly happy with the arrangments. Nick gave a small gesture to some of the children of Aegir, he tapped his temple with his forefinger twice then pointed it at them. They all gave small nods and chuckles before standing up and readying their weapons. River stood as well with the rest of the campers. He headed out into the hallway toward the pool deck, which was on the opposite side of the ship as the main deck (where Xan was.) (Meanwhile, in Kyle's group) Kyle spoke quickly and quietly with the campers he was leading along the inside of the cruise ship, "Alright, so we're going to have to stick back until it comes to fighting. We need to give the Njord kids a chance to talk before we go and fight. The Valkyrie may not be here to fight with us. If it comes to fighting, I want at least three veteran campers to stay back and protect the younger kids. You all run to the life boats if we can't beat them. But remember, we've got Poseidon, Aegir, and Njord on our sides." A small chuckle came from behind Kyle in the hall way, "Did someone say my name?" Out from the shadows emerged a tall fisherman with a beard and stormy eyes, not blue, not green, and not gray, almost like a mix of the three. "I felt them wanting to get on here, but I never thought they'd actually defy me and break the protection I have on this ship. Those girls are sometimes very persistent. I just love it!" Kyle at once fell to the ground, and most of the senior campers who recognize the man followed. Kyle spoke, as if to an old friend, "Lord Njord, you have no idea how glad I am to see you." (Let the problems begin! Hopefully this gets longer posts up so this doesn't all turn into fillers )

Vivi smiled and nodded. "Anytime." She felt more relaxed than she had in a long time. But when she saw River and Nick leap out of their chairs with weapons in hand, her entire body tensed and her hand flew to the hilt of her sword by her side.
She looked upward as the lights flickered and went out. This wasn't good. It wasn't good at all. Looked like their journey wouldn't be an uneventful one, unfortunately.
A couple of the younger kids looked scared and Vivi knelt by them to comfort them as she listened to River. She knew about the Valkyrie. They were some of the worst to have to fight. After Kyle finished speaking, she quickly got up and followed him.
She listened closely, hoping it wouldn't come to fighting. But if it did, they couldn't have chaos with people not knowing what to do. So when Kyle said for three veteran campers to protect the kids, she said, "You, you, and you." As she pointed to them. They gave a nod and moved closer to the younger kids who were clustered together. She turned at the sound of the voice and her eyes widened as she quickly fell to the ground. The ones who didn't recognize him had confused looks on their faces and she gestured for them to do as they did. She was faintly surprised that Kyle seemed to know Njord but not that much about him surprised her anymore.

Njord waved his hand in dismissal, "Come now dear child, you know how much I dislike formalities! Rise, children of the gods, I've come to assist you on your...shall we call them problems?"
Kyle chuckled and stood giving a small nod as he did, "Problems would be the easy thing to call it. You already know, the Valkyrie got on our ship and we don't know how or why."
Njord rubbed his thumb over his beard in thought and said, "Well, the simple answer would be for transport to America, maybe they have accepted the fate of the Norse world. Or, as you can see, and I'm sure feel, by your nasty wound there, they are here to stop this. Although, it'd be much more...reasonable for the first one. They would never disobey Odin, and I find it very hard to believe that they did this to you." The god of the sea gestured to Kyle's torso and Kyle made a face and shook his head.
Njord just gave a small nod and patted Kyle on the shoulder lightly, "If it comes to it, I shall intervene, but other than that, it would be unwise for me to get involved with the Valkyrie at this time." He grimaced slightly then spoke back to the whole group, "Good luck demigods!" He vanished in a POOF! of mist and left Kyle standing there. Kyle gave a small gesture and the group continued.
Kyle turned and motioned for the senior campers and Ethan to take control and he grabbed Vivi and pulled her to the back of the group. He grabbed her hand and that's when you could tell he was shaking. He turned towards her and stopped her. He made sure the group was out of sight and down the hallway before he let out a shaky breath, "Vivs...they'll destroy us. Even with our numbers, they out rank us in skill by so much it's not even funny...I don't know if I can do this again. I can't lead them to their deaths, I...I have to protect the camp. You need to get them lost while I go find the Valkyrie. If I can get to their second in command, I can get them off the ship." His hand gripped her's tighter and he said, "Promise me that no matter what, you won't look back and you won't abandon them again."
(River's group)
River advanced to the railing, the rest of the group still hidden in the hall. He peered over and saw a group of girls, ages 13 to 18 years of age, huddled near the edge of the ship. There were probably 7 in the group, but he saw a few more groups scattered throughout the deck. He mentally hit himself and then he gestured for the group to follow him.
Using the night's shadows to their advantage, they crept down the stairs to the deck that the Valkyrie were on. He turned to Nick and gave a nod, and Nick and the children of Aegir dispersed throughout the deck. River advanced on one of the groups huddled around a table and cleared his throat.
The girls turned around instantly, weapons at the ready and River held up his free hand in a peaceful manner while lowering his sword point to the ground. One of the girls, maybe 17, looked him up and down and said with a smirk, "You are their leader? What happened to the King's son?"
River gave a small chuckled and said, "I'm flattered you think that. No, I'm just here to talk. I'm the negotiator, I guess. I'm River."
The girl crossed her arms, "Of course they sent a boy. Well, River, I am Ana. I guess you are wondering why we are here," she waited for a nod, but River just gave a face that said go on, so she did, "Although we do not agree on the Norse moving to America, we will accept Odin's will. We needed transportation, and you happen to have a lot of extra room. You also have someone we encountered recently."
River's shoulders fell, "Let me guess...Kyle?"
Ana gave a nod, her dark hair falling over her eyes, making River intake a breath suddenly before she spoke again, "He broke a promise he had to the All Father. He came in search of one of our members, my second in command Lea. They were friends before she joined our ranks. You could say more than friends at one point. However, she joined us and kept in contact with the son of Odin, helping him when needed."
River raised an eyebrow at the mention of a girl Kyle may have dated other than Vivian. Ana continued, "Although her intentions were good, the All Father forbade Lea from seeing him, as the mighty Odin saw that she was falling back into the arms of mortal men. Kyle was unaware of this and called on her help again. He had just broken a deal he had made with the All Father and we were ordered to keep any intruders away from the mortal entrance to Asgard, and to keep him away from the Valkyrie. So when he came in search of Lea, we attacked him. I bet he is still very wounded and healing, as it has only been a day or two."
River just looked at her and said, "Wow...so you basically beat up Kyle really bad, for wanting help? What kind of person does that?"
Ana clenched her jaw and grabbed her bow, "The kind that obeys orders! That is not all Kyle had done! He may be a good hero and demigod, but every mortal has their faults. Although he was unaware of doing this, by interacting with one of our maiden huntresses, Kyle broke a truce that we have had between the demigods and the Valkyrie for the past hundred years. I'm very sorry that you have to be involved in this when it is none of your doings, but we must follow through with what we have said. Valkyrie, arms!"
All at once, the girls raised either a bow or a dagger. River raised his sword in defense and said, "Wait, what do we have to do to make this truce good again?" Ana advanced on River, she was several inches shorter but managed to freak out the Greek, none the less. She grabbed his collar and spoke to him, her face centimeters away from his,
"You know, you seem like a smart mortal, even if you are a boy. We'll give you 10 minutes to figure it out. It's very simple. Until then, River." She let go of his collar, River's fierce blue-green eyes held Ana's amber eyes evenly and River smirked before turning and made a signal to the rest of the sea kids. They all raced up the stairs, River still watching Ana. When he made sure they were all away from aim he managed to say, "You know, I heard Ana means desired in some languages. Is that maybe why you joined the Valkyrie, because you were afraid of feeling something so strong as desire?"
Ana growled and said, "Get out of here. You know nothing." River just shrugged and jogged after the rest of the sea kids. He glanced back for a moment and saw Ana still watching him, a different emotion playing on her face, like shock almost. River just shook his head and followed the others.
"Okay, Nick you lead the others back to the rest of the group and tell them what's happening. If you see the rest of the Council, you should grab them and start trying to figure this out. I'll stay over here in case something changes. And hurry, we've only got 9 minutes left." Nick nodded and ran off with the rest of the group, leaving River staring over the rail of the deck above the Valkyrie, watching the leader of the maiden hunters with curiosity.
(Cody, still feel free to catch up with those other posts if you want, no rush. I just couldn't wait to get this ball rolling.)

(Little shorter cuz im on my ipod)
Vivi listened to Njord, fearing that some sort of fighting was inevitable. She worried, not just for the camp, but for Kyle. He'd throw himself at this with everything he had and even he wasn't invincible.
As Kyle gripped her hand, she took a moment to respond. "I promise. I could never leave them now. And I won't. And if you want me to get them lost than I will. But you need to promise me something too." She looked straight into his eyes. "You don't have to do this alone this time. You have River and the others. This isn't just your problem. It's all of ours. You're right the camp can't fight them but you're not the only one who can take them on. Please. Promise me you won't sacrifice yourself when you don't need to. River can help. Between the two of you, we stand a chance. Just don't try to do this all yourself."

(Sorry I couldn't get on sooner)
(With Xan) The voice chuckled and a plume of green smoke manifested on the deck. As the smoke cleared, a man stood in its place. He was tall, lean, and pale. His dangerous green eyes seemed to glow a bit. Black hair licked the back of his neck, and was combed away from his face. He wore nicely pressed, black slacks, a green dress shirt and a black blazer. You couldn't really have guessed this was Loki, god of mischief, unless you had prior knowledge.
(At the dance) Tony tensed as he heard the others. He followed Kyle's group after given instructions. His hand barely touching Shawna's arm.
Before heading with the other group, Ethan stopped Jonas. "I need you to get up to the control tower and see how many we have on board." Jonas raised an eyebrow at first, then nodded, understanding the orders. He sprinted towards the door and down the inner hallway towards the control deck. He managed to get there without being spotted.
He plopped down in the leather chair and turned on all the monitors. He had eyes on River's group, Kyle's group, and the decks.
Oh boy...
After counting up the groups of girls, he paused at one monitor. On the screen was a girl of 17. She had grown older than the last time Jonas saw her, but her amber eyes stayed the same. "Ana..." His eyes stayed locked on her while she talked to River, and remained there as he left.

"I promise not to do anything too stupid this time," Kyle replied with a small smile. Then he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close to him, he ducked his head down and gave her a long kiss. He pulled away and whispered, "Be back soon." Without another word he vanished down the hall.
Xan took a shaky step forward then held out his arm and said, "I'll help you, and it's not just because you're a god...it's because you seem to be the only one that cares about me anymore."
Shawna ran beside Tony, her face blank, but her mind racing, Where's Xan? What if they attack? What will happen to the camp, to the demigods, to Nick, to Tony? What will happen to me? I'm just a girl with a dagger. Subconsciously she grabbed Tony's hand, not exactly romantically, but she was looking for the comfort of another.
River was practicing a few moves while waiting for word from the other group, he was tired and he wanted to get back to Greek training. He turned hearing footsteps and held his sword out to someone's neck and then lowered it, seeing who it was. Kyle chuckled and said, "I know how to fix this." River didn't respond, and Kyle could tell River was mad about something, but decided it was best to ask later. The two headed down back to Ana's group and the leader of the Valkyrie spoke first almost disgusted that Kyle was in her presence, "Back already River? I see you've brought him."
Kyle narrowed his eyes, "I'm right here you know. Whatever. We both want the truce fixed, and I know I broke it, but I don't know how. So here's what we're offering, a-" River interrupted and spoke quickly, "Two on two duel. Kyle and I verses you and your second. We win, the truce is renewed, no one dies, and you get a free and peaceful ride to America. You win, the truce is still renewed and-" Ana interrupted now, "And we get Kyle. The old contract says unless another deal is struck, then the only other way for the truce to work again is for the one who broke it to be taken care of."
Kyle rubbed his hand on his throat then glanced at River. To Ana, they seemed to have a conversation with their eyes. They both nodded, Kyle almost gravely, and turned to Ana, "Deal." Ana gave a smirk and said, "Sword will be the weapon, as you'll need the advantage. My second is Lea, Daughter of Forseti, god of Justice. Let's get this started." Lea walked over with a small sword and gave a slight nod to Kyle. Kyle sighed and gave a small, almost wistful smile to her before he set his sights on Ana. One of the hunters stood in the center of the four and then said, "Begin!"
Kyle ran at Ana and River took Lea. Kyle's sword clashed with Ana's and he tried to use his strength against her by attempting to force her sword down. Ana smirked, knowing that the boy would do this and she pulled back and slashed her sword down to Kyle's leg, leaving a cut on the front. Kyle grit his teeth and ran/limped quickly back over to her and they continued to fight, Ana laying more small blows to his legs and lower arms, while Kyle mostly went defensive after a bit.
River watched Lea attack him, just blocking and getting a feel for her moves. He smirked, she still hadn't realized that he had a much different fighting and defensive style then the Norse demigods and she was wearing herself out. River knew she would slip up eventually, and when she did by hitting the bottom of River's sword, he flew into action and slid his blade down her's and knocked it sideways and it clattered to the ground. Lea went after it but River just slashed his sword down and gave her a medium sized cut on the shoulder, Lea gripped the wound and looked up at River who was now standing over her sword and he held his arm out with a small smile. She grabbed his hand and the Greek helped her up. She had lost and she gave him a small nod, complimenting his skill and took a seat in one of the chairs. River chuckled 1 down, 1 to go. He turned to help Kyle.
What he saw shocked him. Kyle was on the ground panting, his sword held up to protect him from the continuous blows of Ana. The first thing that went through River's mind was Either Kyle's not as good as everyone says, or Ana is just a lot better then him and the rest of her hunters. He flew into action just as Ana came down for a finishing blow.
Kyle just lay their as Ana raised her sword one last time to reopen his previous wound. He closed his eyes, Looks like I won't see Vivs again...I'm sorry. Then he heard the CLINK of a sword block and he opened his eyes to see River locked swords with Ana. The hunter's amber eyes bore into the sea child's blue-green eyes. He smirked and they continued to fight, Kyle just lay there, watching them fight. It seemed pretty evenly matched, at first it was River in lead, then it was Ana, then it was River again. Kyle sat up and moved out of the way, giving them ample room to move.
River's eyes stayed locked on Ana's, but he was able to predict her moves after the weeks he's been spending with the Norse sword trainers. This seemed to shock Ana enough to give River an upper hand. River mostly played defense, but it wasn't like it was with Lea. He was able to get in a lot of moves with Ana's sword technique. He thrust toward her sword arm and she blocked, as she was moving to the block, River pulled his sword away and spun. He turned the sword to the flat side as he spun and when he came back around he managed to disarm the huntress by slamming the flat side into her hand. The sword clattered to the ground and River placed his foot on the blade, panting slightly from the fight and smirked, "I believe, that's game."
Ana and Lea just looked at him in shock, Ana the most. Only two other people had ever beaten her in sword combat, and that was before she joined the Valkyrie. She took a step back and said, "Wh-who the hell are you? Where did you learn to fight like that?"
River chuckled and picked up the huntress's sword and handed it to her, "I'm River Jackson, Son of the Lord of the Sea. And a magician never gives away his secrets." He winked and then ran over to Kyle, who was still bleeding heavily because part of his wound had been reopened. He looked up to the control tower, hoping someone was up there to go get the other campers. He managed to help Kyle to his feet and he looked over at Ana, "You guys have a healer or anything to help clean him up?"
Ana gave a small nod and she and Lea went over to help, "We're two of the healers, sit him in a chair and Lea will dress his small wounds. Keep pressure on the largest one to keep it from bleeding." Lea glanced up at Kyle, who was watching her work. She pulled out a few band-aids and Neo-to-Go and put some on the smaller cuts, she then pulled out some bandage wrap for the bigger ones on his arm and wrapped them.
Lea then sighed and said, "I'm sorry...about all of this. It's not just your fault...it's mine too. Please forgive me?" Kyle just gave a sigh and looked to the sky, "I could never stay too mad at you Lea. But I can't forgive you entirely...because you know most of this wasn't my fault at all. It was your's, but Odin doesn't want anyone messing with you guys, so I took the blame." A small tear fell down Lea's cheek and she just stayed silent. River watched and then turned to the control tower again, he felt someone was up there, hopefully the got to the other group soon to alert them that everything was okay. Ana watched from a little ways away and thought I wonder if ALL the Norse campers are on this ship.

Tony squeezed Shawna's hand reassuringly, and put on a mask he's worn since he was born - his brave mask. He was terrified. He didn't have a weapon and next to no training. So much for redeeming himself.
Jonas was sitting in the leather chair, knees drawn up and his chin sitting on top of them. His eyes were glued to the screen and he seemed unfocused.
Loki smiled like the Cheshire cat. "I'm flattered! Now, we best get off this ship." He grabbed Xan's wrist and they disappeared in a plume of green smoke, reappearing in the Colorado wilderness.

Xan gasped and stumbled a bit when they reappeared in the wild and he looked around, "W...where are we?"
Nick looked at his watch and then grimaced, "Times up...come on, we better at least be ready for them." He looked at the whole group, "Everyone just keep calm and follow me, there's still a chance River figured this out...plus we outnumber them 3 to 1." He began leading them to the deck.
Shawna glanced over at him, noticing he didn't have a weapon and said, "Here," she handed him her dagger and gave a small smile, "You take this, it's better than not being protected. I'm better in hand-to-hand anyways."
Kyle had passed out now from a mixture of exhaustion and blood loss and River was crouched at his side and looked at Ana, "Do me a favor, will you?" Ana gave a small nod, but she didn't seem herself as River continued, "See that control tower? Can you go up there and go to the speaker and alert the campers that it's safe?"
The huntress glanced up at the control tower and then back at River, a small smirk playing on her face, "Can I? Yes, will I, if it keeps this demigod from dying by my hands, then yes. I don't want the truce to be broken right after it was renewed." She leaped out of her chair and onto the table and then jumped over to the stair rail and from there she flipped over the rail to the upper deck and then she dashed into the darkness of the hallway toward the emergency stairs, since the power was still out and she couldn't take the elevator.
Ana jogged up the stairs, no problem, and she barged open the door to the control room. She glanced around the moonlit tower, it was seemingly empty. She gave a small sigh and went over to some of the controls, looking for the intercom system. Technology was NOT her thing.

Loki smiled. "Colorado," was his only response.
Tony nodded and smiled slightly. "I appreciate it."
Jonas perked his ear but did not turn around upon hearing someone enter the room. He sat silently for a few moments before swiveling and asking, "May I help you-" He was shocked to see Ana.

Xan took a step back and looked suspiciously at Loki, "Isn't that were the camp is headed? I don't want my campers to be harmed, I'm one of their leaders." At least I was...should I really care? They've all disgraced me, they don't trust me anymore because I don't show trust in an outsider. Should I really care for their safety anymore if they don't even care about me?
Shawna smiled and gave him a little bump and gripped his hand a little more before looking forward and putting on a more serious face.
Ana stumbled back in surprise when she saw Jonas and she tripped over something and landed on the table behind her. The little voice in her head said Gods, way to make yourself look like a complete idiot! Your the leader of the Valkyrie for Odin's sake, compose yourself! It's not like he means anything to you anymore. He's just another demigod. But she couldn't really process what the voice was saying, so she just stared at him, mouth open. When she finally managed to process what happened, she got off the table and brushed herself off. She looked back up at Jonas, not meeting his eyes as she said, "Oh...I didn't think you were still at camp." When she did meet his dark blue eyes, she couldn't bring herself to look away. Not again.
Kyle was still passed out, but his memories and thoughts flew by in his mind. He would be in the middle of a great memory about Vivs, and it would be interrupted by one about Lea. He had known Lea liked him, but he tried to make it clear he wasn't into her like that. Obviously that didn't work.
(*shakes Magicman* Don't you go die on us now, 'ya hear? Just make sure to keep calm if it happens again, and maybe drink water(?)...water is always the answer. Put your hands on your head and try to slow down your breathing. If it happens again, don't worry about this, your health is more important. Hope you get better!
On another note, can I make a little memory of Jonas and Ana? I'm kind of thinking of them like Percy and Annabeth, but they never got together and Ana left Jonas without saying what she felt...what do you think?)

Loki smiled. "It is." He observed the area before turning back towards Xan, listening to his pleas. "Hurt them? Why would you even care you them? You're nothing to them!" He stepped closer, looking into the child's eyes. "I can make you great!"
Jonas snorted at Ana's reaction. "Nope, I'm still here. 'Course, I could've been dead in America or gone to live nearby but you know...the camp is my family." He caught her gaze and stared into her amber eyes. He remembered when he sought comfort in those eyes all those years ago.
(XD I appreciate your concern, River. Thank you. I'll try those next time. By the time I got on here, it had passed.)
(Go for it. Sounds great.)

Vivi gave a small nod. "Good." She kissed him back long and hard, then watched as he ran off down the hall. "Be safe." She whispered then turned to the rest of the campers around her. "Come on." Kyle had said for we to get them lost and that was what she was going to do. She had to keep them out of harm's way. So she led them down a corridor, taking a series of twists and turns to avoid whatever was happening elsewhere. She sensed something was wrong ad she worried but there was nothing she could do if there was. She just had to hope Kyle would be ok. Losing him after just getting him back...she'd keep herself together, for the sake of the camp but she'd never be the same. And there was no possible way she could ever love anyone else. She kept them lost, ignoring any questions from the group. And she waited. (Oh my gosh, that's scary. So glad to hear you're ok )

Xan was about to return a smart-ass comment but his head fell and his hair fell over his eyes. A small voice spoke to him, He's right, you know. You had all that power and it was taken from you in an instant. You know what you must do. Xan looked back up at the god, his brown eyes darker and the bags under his eyes were more prominent, he decided there was no turning back now, "Then we should get started. They're going to arrive in a week's time."
Kyle's groans became silent and his breathing was raspy. River just shook his head and sprinted up the stairs. He cupped his hand over his mouth and screamed at the top of his lungs, "VIVI! IT'S ALL CLEAR, GET EVERYONE TO THE POOL DECK, NOW!"
Ana looked away, and wiped a few small tears playing at the edge of her eyes, she couldn't take seeing the disappointment in his eyes, "That's...it's good to hear that Jonas." She took a step toward him Stop! It doesn't matter what the terms were with Odin, don't lead him on, you'll just hurt yourself and him all over again! She let out a loud sigh and then she managed to meet his gaze again, how she had longed to find warmth in his eyes, she finally cracked, "Jonas, I know you're mad at me...but you have to know I didn't want to leave...not then at least. Not when things were getting good again. Jonas, I didn't mean to go with so many questions unanswered."
Flashback:
Ana lay on a lounge chair at the beach, wearing her jean shorts and a bikini top, trying to soak up what little sun the camp had at the moment. A shadow crossed over her face and she didn't open an eye as she said, "You're blocking my sun, can you move please?" A small chuckle was heard, which made Ana a little peeved and she opened her eyes, "What's so fu-" She was tackled off her chair by a tan figure wearing light tan cargo shorts and a gray t-shirt. She laughed as she looked at the face staring down at her, "You maybe 13, but you still act like an idiot, Jonas!"
Jonas rolled beside her and smirked, turning his head to look at the girl laying beside him, "I try so hard, just for you!" Ana just shook her head and threw a handful of sand at him. Jonas laughed as Ana tried to get up, but he sat himself up and just grabbed the girl by the waist and pulled her down beside him, "Though it may not seem like it, Ice Girl, I came here for a reason." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a few inches of braided string. In the center was a small carved out piece of stone with a symbol in it. He smiled and said softly, "Happy 15th Birthday, Ice Girl. I made this for today. The little stone piece's symbol is the Mayan symbol for 'way'. It means spirit companion. So you'll always know I'm with you, where ever you go."
Ana just looked at him, speechless, as he wrapped it around her left wrist. He smiled and then leaned back on his elbows, now it was Ana's turn to talk, "Jonas...thanks. I didn't think you'd remember to be honest...I love it." She leaned against the boy and wrapped her arms around his shoulders in a hug.
A little shocked by the action, Jonas sat there for a moment before sitting up and wrapping his hands around her waist. In the almost three years they'd known each other, they'd grown really close. Jonas had developed feelings for the older girl in no time, and it was a rare occasion that he ever got to do something so intimate with his best friend. Jonas was expecting Ana to let go, but she never did, so he didn't either.
Ana shook slightly as tears began to fall from her eyes and she sobbed quietly. She still hadn't told Jonas about Odin and the Valkyrie. She'd be receiving the call to duty any day now. Her hands fell from Jonas' shoulders and came to her eyes. She was still leaning against the teenage boy, her head resting on his chest. It was no secret now, she had strong feelings for Jonas, but she still had never spoken them aloud for fear of their friendship breaking. When she brought her hands to her face. Jonas repositioned slightly and slowly brought them to a laying position on the warm sand. Ana curled up at his side and cried into his chest while Jonas kept his arm wrapped tightly around her waist.
When she finally looked up at him, her amber eyes were puffy and Jonas gave a small smile and used his spare hand to wipe the remaining tears away. He spoke softly, "I won't let anything happen to you." Before he knew he was doing it, he was leaning in to kiss her, and she was leaning toward his lips too. Someone cleared their throat above the two and Jonas scrambled back in surprise, but Ana remained where she was her eyes watching Jonas carefully.
The camper spoke awkwardly but he had a grin plastered on his face, "Sorry for interrupting but Ana, someone's here to see you." Jonas glared at the camper as Ana stood and gathered her things and shoved them in a bag that was under the chair that Jonas hadn't noticed before. She looked down at Jonas and offered a playful smile before helping him up. The camper gave a smirk and turned around to leave and then said, "She's waiting by the Fire Pit. See you guys later."
Ana laughed as the camper left and she slung her bag over her shoulder. She glanced back at Jonas, her eyes bright, but Jonas could tell there was something she was hiding, something behind those eyes that were crying only a few minutes ago. She turned to him and said with a nervous giggle, "And then there were two..."
Jonas chuckled and waved his hand, "You better get going, wouldn't want Mystery Lady to be kept waiting." Ana cringed a bit and took a hesitant step toward Jonas and reached out for his hand, "What we were about to do...rain check it. I'll...I'll see you later, Dark Knight." Jonas grabbed her hand and entwined his fingers in hers, his eyes longing to be with her. "Let me walk you there? Please?" He begged. The to-be huntress gave a small smile and squeezed his hand, "It's better if you're not there. Just go back to training. Thanks for the gift, I won't forget it." She let go of his hand and turned to leave, but on a spur of the moment thought she turned back around and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She blushed and whispered, "I'll see you soon, I promise." She jogged off, leaving Jonas gaping after the girl he loved. Ana didn't turn back as she ran through the woods toward the Fire Pit. She stopped at her empty cabin and grabbed her bag before taking in the cabin area as she walked to the Fire Pit. Tears came to her eyes about the unfinished business she'll always have with her best friend. She was met by a girl around the age of 19 who smiled, "You ready?" Ana took one last glance at the camp before turning to the current leader of the Valkyrie, her amber eyes glistening with both tears of joy and tears of sadness as she nodded, "Yes...I think I am." With that, the two huntresses took off into the woods toward the Valkyrie's secret entrance to Asgard.
