(Hehehe...I just thought of this as I was posting. Tony's loneliness gave me the idea)
Nick gave a small nod and glanced over at Tony before continuing to eat his food. Kyle stood and took the stage yet again, a huge grin on his face, "Alright everyone. Now here comes the part that no one, not even River, Jonas, and Vivs knew about. This is something that you guys haven't had in ages. Let's get this dance started!"
He clapped, and as if by magic, the tables were moved to the side, the lights dimmed revealing a disco ball, and a computer sat on a table on the stage, connected to the speakers. It blared music. The first song on was "Gives You Hell" by The All-American Rejects. He smirked and yelled over the music, "Lets relax and party for a night!"
Shawna came back in and sat down on one of the chairs, her face crestfallen and she wouldn't look up, except to glance at the chairs where the Council members were sitting. She suddenly had an idea as she stared at Tony who looked really alone. She stood and walked past Nick, giving him a look before standing in front of Tony, "Want to dance?"
River walked back in, his eyes infuriated as he sat near the entrance to the mess hall. He had taken off his clothes from earlier, the ones representing his Greek heritage and status, and had changed into a plain Orange Camp Half-Blood and jeans. He gave a sigh and looked as the Norse campers seemed to be having a great time at this dance and party. Eventually, he stood and grabbed some juice, feeling downcast after his argument with Xan and Shawna, and his sudden longing for his friends and home.
Kyle walked back over to Vivi and whispered in her ear, "Keep the guys company. I have to go. I'll be back in a bit. I need to deal with some family matters." He gave her a kiss on the cheek then made his exit to the main deck.

Tony looked a bit startled. "Uh...me?" He squeaked. He unconsciously pulled his hat down a tad, and swallowed hard. "Uh - sure! Yeah, let's dance." He followed Shawna to the dance floor, smiling a bit. But, that's when the voice entered his head.
Oh, little Anthony, I see you made a few friends!
Tony frowned and shook his head a little, trying to ignore the voice.
Don't worry! As a good father, I will give them a lovely surprise to show my gratitude! Have a safe trip to the States!

Vivi looked over at Kyle as he responded, and was slightly unsure how to respond. As the music started, she moved a little to the side, not being a huge dancer. It had been a long time since she had been at a party. She nodded to Kyle. "Ok, see you later."
Glancing around, she saw Tony dancing and the other guys just milling around, except for River. She wandered over, thinking he looked a little lonely. "Hey." She said as she walked up. "Everything ok?" She asked.

Shawna smile and lead him to the dance floor and smiled, so Tony was the son of Loki, so what? A slow song came on and she glanced at Nick, who just smirked and gave a 'go on' motion, before Shawna grabbed Tony's hands and placed them on her hips. She wrapped her arms around his neck and said, "You don't need to be alone Tony. Your godly parent doesn't matter to some of us, heck, I don't even have a godly parent. All that matters is this." As she said this, she pointed to his heart and smiled, "Your love, your loyalty, your courage. And, in my opinion, your heart is better then most of the guys around here."
River looked up at Vivi came up to him and he gave a small smile, "Hey. Yeah, I guess everything is okay. It's just Xan. Shawna, Nick's girlfriend, and I tried talking to us, but he wouldn't listen. He told us to leave him alone. I left first but Shawna was insistent on comforting him. So I waited down the hall for her and when she came to find me, she wouldn't look at me. She just walked on by and said we should get back here. So I just came back here. I don't get what his problem is." He gave a small sigh and the slow song came on. He glanced at Vivi, maybe thinking about asking her to dance, but then he looked away. It would probably not have been appropriate since she just got Kyle back.

Tony blushed as Shawna moved his hands. She didn't care? He sighed and shook his head. "It's not really a reputation I'm worried about now..."
Jonas scooted down to where River and Vivi were. "I heard Ethan and Nick talking about removing Xan from the council and replacing him with Kyle." He sighed and crossed his arms. "Now, I'm sorta wondering what kinda mood that would put him in."

Vivi sighed and nodded. "He didn't react the way I expected him to. Even if he is angry at Kyle, his brother's alive. Nothing else should matter right now." She shrugged. "Maybe there were other issues before all this and Xan's just refusing to see past them. I don't know. Anyway, Kyle went to talk to him. At least, I assume that's what he meant when he said he was going to deal with family matter. Hopefully they'll get somewhere."
A thoughtful look appeared on her face after Jonas spoke. "It would make sense, in a way. But it wouldn't solve any problems between those two."

River gave a small sigh and said, "There's something behind those two that we don't understand. I know that Xan was devastated when Kyle died but I also heard from some of the senior counselors that Xan wasn't at the camp that often until about a year before Kyle died." When Jonas spoke he gave a grunt, "Yeah, because replacing Xan temporarily wasn't enough to boost his temper."
Shawna gave a cute confused look and said, "Really? What's keeping you from being yourself around the rest of the camp then?"

Jonas sighed. "I wanna find out what the beef is between those two...not being nosy but....it could prevent some conflicts." He popped a grape in his mouth from his plate on the table.
Tony shook his head. "Let's just say I don't wanna be the cause of any death, injury or otherwise...being a son of Loki in a camp full of "enemies" isn't always the best."

River just shrugged and grabbed a grape from Jonas's plate and bit into it, his face thoughtful.
Shawna tilted her head slightly and said, "Enemies of him...not you? I guess that makes sense...but there are people out there who Loki won't bother. Me, for example. He can't touch me without the gods incinerating him to oblivion."
*Meanwhile off on the main deck*
Xan was leaning on the rail looking over the sea. In his mind he played back what just happened with River and Shawan...
"Hey...Xan, wait up!" "Alexander i'Magali, stop!" Xan stopped cold and he turned around, his eyes red as if he were about to cry. He snapped at the two who followed him, "What?! What could you possibly need from me?" Shawna looked at him, hurt and then said, "Why did you not rejoice when Kyle said he was alive? I thought you loved your brother." River just nodded, "I was wondering the same thing. I know I'm not your favorite person in the world, but as a leader here-" Xan turned on River and spat, a dagger at the Greek's throat, "You are not a leader in this camp. You are a chess piece of the gods. The only reason you are here is to get us to America. You will be leaving our company right after that or so help me I'll..." Xan didn't need to finish his sentence, the threat was clear. River just backed up and said, "Okay, okay...chill. I'm only trying to help. I'm not trying to pick a fight with you Xan, I just want to know what's wrong." Shawna had blinked back a few tears as Xan uttered the following words, "I will never open up to you, Greek. You and the Romans are part of the reason the Norse are often forgotten! Go away, both of you and let me be."
River was about to speak again, but Shawna's look silenced him. She muttered, "Just go wait for me around the corner River." The Son of Poseidon nodded and left. Shawna looked back at Xan, "This is about your mom, isn't it?" Xan growled, almost animal like, "I never should have told you about that." Now it was Shawna's turn to be angry, "Don't talk to me like that Alexander! You know you don't regret telling me that. Yes, your mom died because you and Kyle left her. But Xan, as much as you loved her, she was going to kill you both if she didn't stop-" she stopped and realized that Xan tears were falling down Xan's cheeks. Her composure softened and she said softly, "Hey...hey, don't do that. Don't start feeling sorry for yourself. It wasn't your fault, Xan. Look at me," she brought his chin up so he was going to look her in the eyes, "She brought this upon herself. Not even the gods could save here from where she was going. You can't blame yourself, and you can't blame Kyle." Xan sniffed, "I can blame Kyle. I never told you this...but a few years after he brought me to camp, when I turned 8 maybe...He went back to mom's to try to help her. He found her over dosed on the ground. And you know what he did? He just left her there. He didn't call for help. He saw her, and he ran. I found out by watching the news, they said she had an OD two days before someone found her and it was two days before that news cast that Kyle had gone to see her. He let her die Shawna. He doesn't sound so noble now does he?"
Shawna just listened silently and said quietly, "Nobody is perfect Xan. Even Kyle gets scarred. He hadn't seen his mother in three years. When you find someone in a condition like that after not seeing them for three years, you panic." Xan just shook his head, "Kyle was never like that. He did it on purpose. He wanted her to die." Shawna sighed, "I'm sorry you think that..." She started to turn but Xan grabbed her arm. "Wait...Shawna this has been something on my mind for almost a year...why did you choose Nick over me?" Caught by surprise by the sudden subject change, Shawna just looked at him blankly. Xan just continued and said, "Nick's no better than me...sure he controls his temper but...I was on the Council first, I'm a better swordsman...I met you first. What makes you so attracted to him?"
Shawna just sighed, "Xan, none of what you just said matters. You may have known me first, but you did not accept having me at the camp. I was a non-demigod. I was mortal through and through, and you didn't like the fact that Gale was part Greek and part Norse. You never have liked anyone outside your own heritage. Nick didn't judge me by my looks or family tree, he liked me for being me. I'm sure you do too but...when you rejected me a few months after I had stayed in camp, I was heart broken. Nick helped me fix it. Xan...I would have chosen you at one point but when Kyle died and you joined the Council...you changed. I didn't love you anymore, not the way you want me to." When she finished Xan stood quietly. Shawna thought he was wanting to be alone and started to leave, but suddenly Xan pulled her back by her waist and kissed her. She was so shocked she didn't pull away.
When Xan finally took a step back, he managed to say in a calm, cool but broken voice, "You can't tell me you didn't feel anything from that." Shawna just touched her lips with her fingertips and looked away from Xan, "Xan...I can't say what you want me to. " "Can't or won't?" Shawna just shook her head and said, "You need to get yourself together, Xan. You need to talk to Kyle...that's all I came out here to tell you." She left him right after that, leaving him to think about what he just told her and what he just did.
Xan smiled lightly, he knew Shawna still had feeling for him. Maybe him and Nick. But it all came down to her, who would she choose? And would it even be one of them that she did? In all his memory recalling and thinking, Xan didn't even notice Kyle come up behind him before Kyle sighed, "What can I do to make things right with you Alexander?"
Xan turned quickly, his face hardening at the sight of Kyle and he said, "Just leave me alone. You aren't my brother anymore Kyle. You're just someone who betrayed our family by killing mom, faking your death, and coming back to take everything I love from me."
Kyle frowned, "Alex..." Xan suddenly snapped, "I don't go by that anymore! It's a past life that I don't want to look back at, simply because I glorified you when I should have been hating you this whole time." Kyle suddenly got stern and said, "Do not talk to me that way Alexander i'Magali! I am your older brother and I practically raised you! What made you hate me so much?" The young son of Baldur flinched and said, "It should have been Mom raising me, raising both of us. But you killed her. You found her over dosed and ran away, Kyle! She could have still been alive right now!" Tears were streaking down Xan's face now, but Kyle's features didn't soften, he didn't break like Shawna had. "You need to grow up and learn that not everything you hear is true. I took you away from Mom and to camp because she was abusing us. You don't remember because all your brain could handle remembering at the time was the good times. She tried beating you everyday, but I always got in the way. I looked forward to the days I could get away from there and spend time with the other demigods, even if it meant leaving you with her."
Kyle's tone changed slightly and he choaked on a few words, "I made the decision to get us out of there for good. We weren't claimed yet but I knew that it'd be better and safer for us to grow up with a family of Norse demigods. So we stayed in the Norse camp permanently. I went back three years later to see if Mom had gotten better. Yes, I did find her but she wasn't alone and she wasn't over dosed. She was really sick and the only man she ever loved was there to help her through: Baldur, your dad. She didn't even know who I was. Baldur explained to me that she had so much substance abuse that she often forgot her own name. He told me to leave, and when I said I wouldn't leave her like this, he transported me away with his godly powers. It was too late when I went back, she was dead and the doctors just assumed it was from an over dose. But Baldur had taken her soul down to Hel so that she might be able to rest in peace. Don't you get it now? I had to protect you from the truth, it would have hurt you more." Kyle's face was still serious and his posture was still strong, but you could tell that in his eyes, he was beyond distraught.
Xan looked away, "I...I didn't know. Baldur...he did this?" Xan seem to think this through as the tears streamed down his eyes. He wiped them away and said, "I-it can't go back to the way it was Kyle...I still can't forgive you...you still made me go through all the emotional crap when you "died." I can't forgive you for something like that."
Kyle just gave a deep nod, "I'm sorry...but I can't change the past. If you want to grow up, you have to let go of what happened and look to tomorrow. No one's perfect Xan. You and I are included in that."
Xan just looked back over the sea, not acknowledging Kyle anymore, just deep in thought. Kyle just sighed and turned back to the mess hall, as he left he said, "We're having a dance party right now...maybe you should stop being so serious for once and enjoy life." At that he left, leaving Xan alone to again contemplate and sort his thoughts and actions.
(Sorry that it's so long...)

Vivi nodded as she grabbed a strawberry and bit into it before responding. "I'd kinda like to know too but Kyle's not going to talk about it to me unless he wants to. He'll work it out with Xan, one way or another."

Tony laughed. "My father can do a lot of things, and stay out the gods reach. That and he thinks demigods are his little playthings when he gets bored..."
~~~
Out on the deck with Xan, a voice entered his head. It's a shame isn't it... No one was around, but there was a different feeling in the atmosphere. I guess I'm not the only one with big brother issues
Kyle came back into the mess hall, his eyebrows furrowed as if deep in thought and he sat down near the others but didn't say anything. He just sat looking a this hands.
River glanced up at Kyle and said, "Everything cool?" Kyle didn't respond, in fact he wasn't even listening.
Shawna laughed and said, "Hey, that's my point exactly. I'm not a demigod. My brother was but I'm not. I'm at the camp as an honorary member. I'm a legacy of Hel way back, but it's not like I've got any abilities other than hand to hand combat." She gave a small sad sigh, she missed Gale.
Xan lifted his head and said, "Who's there?" He felt a chill go up his neck and said with slight curiosity, "What do you mean big brother issues?"
Vivi glanced over at Kyle and she wondered how things had gone with Xan. She walked over so she was standing next to him, not saying anything for the moment. But he'd know she was there if he wanted to talk.
Tony smirked. "I've got quite a few powers myself." He disappeared in a green, smokey haze, and reappeared behind Shawna, wrapping his arms around her to spin her around.
The voice chuckled. Yes....seems quite common in....Nordic families...maybe you can assist me..
Kyle spoke, as if to no one, when Vivi walked up to him, "He doesn't believe me. He hasn't changed at all. When he's set on something he was told or discovered, nothing can change him."
Shawna laughed and smiled as she spun around. When she had finished twirling, she rested her head on Tony's chest and closed her eyes, her tone hushed a bit, "I wish demigods could enjoy themselves like this more often...I wish you guys had it easier."
Xan stood up straight, "Show yourself...and maybe I'll think about it."
