Cory sat and looked down at his plate. There was a slice of watermelon and a sandwich there. It didn't really look to appetizing now. He threw them in the fire and said, "To Nyx." He sat back down and stared at his glass for a moment before he he noticed someone watching him out of the corner of his eye. He didn't turn, and he didn't bother to greet the person. He just pulled something out of his pocket, waiting. He knew what he had to do, and if he had to do it, he had to leave Camp Half-Blood, because they wouldn't know who she actually was, so they would assume Cory had done it out of cold blood.
It wasn't entirely impossible that he would do something of the sort. Just one more soul to his mother's master. One more point for Erebus, or Hades, to like him. Cory gripped the weapon he had in his hand as the girl spoke to him from where she was, "So you know it's me?"
Cory frowned, "Yeah. I've known ever since Chris was taken and you call me Hot Shot. How did you get back into camp, Star?"
Star smiled, "Its always a plus when I can fool you, Cory. I am a halfblood, there really is no way of keeping me out of the camp. I just took a different name and said I was daughter of Apollo. I met Peter and I manipulated him into doing what I wanted. I just have to keep hooking up with him to keep him wrapped around my little finger."
Cory scowled, "What happened to you? I never did mean to hurt you, you did that yourself. You joined Ivy. The only thing I did to you was chose Anabelle over you, and with good reason. You are a traitor and I should just kill you now." Star laughed and let him finish.
"But you and I both know that if I did that, I would be forced to leave. No one except maybe Aaron would know your true identity, and he doesn't have enough say to help me. Peter would hunt me down, and I wouldn't be allowed in the camp. Anabelle would hate me. But I have to protect the camp from you being Ivy's spy. I have to protect the camp, even if it isn't mine to protect." He stood and turned, sword in hand, but his eyes widened as Star was looking down at her stomach, where a golden sword had impaled her all the way through. She fell to the ground and was still. Dead.
Cory looked up at her attacker and said, "Wha-...Why? You didn't have to, it should have been my death on her shoulders, I turned her into what she was, I should have turned her back."
Aaron looked at Cory, "You said it yourself. They won't take the word of a Roman. You have so much more to loose. You have to go. Trust me. I'll be fine. Get back to your cabin before anyone sees that you were her. I'll take the blame, I'll take the responsibility for what happened. It was always going to be me. The son of death. Goodbye Cory." He took off his orange and purple mixed camp shirts, revealing a white t-shirt underneath. He grabbed his bag and ran off toward the hill and soon vanished over it.
Cory watched him go and said, "Thank you...Aaron. I never thought you could do such a thing for a friend. I'll make sure your name is cleared. Good luck out there. Cory raced back to his cabin before anyone could see anything.
