Name: Cyborg1101
Character name: Alfred Birkin
Meaning of name: "Wise"
Type (God, Goddess, Monster, Demigod, etc,): Godling
God Parent(s): Hephaestus and Athena
God of: Most sciences, logic, mathematics, chess, astrology, alchemy
Age:1101
Appearance: 6'4" and (see 'Pictures).
Personality: Alfred is extremely intelligent, but finds himself quite boring, and not to be a very good researcher. On occasion, he will speak about a subject the listener doesn't understand, and then start to ramble in explanation of it. Despite being descended from the goddess of battle strategy, Birkin is something of a pacifist, fighting only when he cannot reason with an opponent, and even then, he hates to kill them. Do not let this cause you to think he is incapable, though. While he is fluent in Latin, Birkin is somewhat bitter toward Romans. This is partially because he was never adopted into the Byzantines' mythology. Also, he does not like their reliance on a powerful army instead of technology or non-violent areas.
Abilities or Skills (not everyone will have these): Since he is the god of logic, logic dictates that he is quite knowledgeable. He is very slightly stronger than an average human man, and is rather skilled with a sword, though he prefers other weapons when weapons are required.
Strengths: Supernaturally intelligent, uses weapon more advanced than modern human weapons, focuses on talking situations out (except for war games).
Weaknesses: Not completely immortal since he can only survive a fatal wound by regenerating, which takes a few minutes.
Loves: Studying, researching, tending to the sick and wounded (well, not having to, but when needed), reading about failed socioeconomic theories...Also his pet, er, companion owl, Owloysius
Hates: Violence, Romans, and (very much) BLACK MESA, oooohhh...
Background: Alfred was born in Europe,...
(Skipping tediously long history)
...,eventually founding the Think Tank, a research team consisting of only the most intelligent figures from history (and some extraordinary genetics experiments who did not appear in history), such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Marie Curie, and that guy from the Twilight Zone. Those who were in any way mortal had to be transferred into special machines meant to preserve a brain and maybe a little more, but never much more.
(Skipping more history)
Unfortunately, due to Zeus underestimating the Titans' interest in a tier-one research facility, Big MT was captured and Aperture Science exploited to design and mass-produce many automatons, B.O.W.s, and "super"-weapons. This was a cause for several of "our" failed battles, including those at Seattle, Charlotte, and Nowhere.
By the end of the second Titanomachy, the Titans' entire regiment stationed at Big MT was forced to withdraw to parts unknown, and the facility could come back on track, though not without salvaging certain successful assets to improve security, most of which were stored in a hidden bunker only accessible from the facility.
Currently, Alfred works at Camp Half-Blood, conducting research deep within Cabin 9 and teaching a few classes on varying subjects.
