Amelia sat on the beach, her blonde hair cascading down her shoulders. She pushed her aviators back up the bridge of her nose, her blonde eyes squinting in the sunlight even with her sunglasses on. Her book sat open in her lap, her eyes moving back and forth as she read the French words. How she had managed to become fluent in French while suffering from dyslexia was beyond her. It seemed almost laughable to her, that she was able to comprehend a language other than English, and become fluent in it. Perhaps her dyslexia made only English difficult. Regardless of the reason, she sat there, deeply engrossed in her French book.
Amelia occasionally adjusted the strap of her swimsuit, or shifted her weight slightly as she dug her toes in the sand. It was wonderful that outside weather had no affect on Camp. She could study on the beach, swim, or sunbathe year-round. And she was doing two of them at once. She was highly enjoying catching some rays while reading her foreign book.
Amelia hummed the tune to a classic French song softly under her breath as she remained focused only on her book. She would lift her head every once in awhile, just because she became distracted by the sounds the wind or the light reflecting off the sparkling water. It was hard to tune out the sounds of the outside world. It came with the territory of having ADHD, but being so presently engrossedin her book made it less of an issue than normal.
