Collin knew he was dead. Knew it was all over. And it made him furious. Just like thar, it was over. As he stood as he was taken across the River Styx, he made a decision. He had to talk to Hades, his father. So when they arrived at the entrance to the Underworld, he slipped through, and made his way to Hades throne room.
Hades sat on his throne, looking bored. He glanced up as Collin entered. "So you failed."
"It was Ivys fault."
"Ah, always blaming others. You were arrogant, and cocky. And you're supposed to be at the entrance."
"So?"
"Collin, because you are my son, you werenot sent to the Fields of Punishment. You
realize what that means dont you?"
"That I'm lucky?"
"That you ruined your life, turning against the gods."
"You dont like them either."
"Thats beside the point."
"I want my life back. I wasnt finished!"
"You know I cant do that."
"Oh, yes you can. I'm not going o spend the eternity wandering around the
Asphodel Fields!"
"Would you prefer to be punished?"
"I'd prefer to be alive!"
Hades was silent for a moment. "Anabelle is in a deep sleep, correct?"
"Correct."
"Then I'll offer you a deal. You may wander up there as a spirit. When she wakes up, you will have 1 year to get her to fall in love with you. If you suceed, I will make you alive again. If you fail, you will spend eternity in the Fields of Punishment."
"Done."
"Are you sure?"
"Quite."
"Very well. You will spend a week down here, then Charon will take you back up."
Collin nodded and left.
Hades. "Foolish boy. What makes him think I will keep my promise? And Anabelke despises him."
