Jay sat atop one of The Seeker's lower masts as it hung in the sky over Half Blood hill. He'd changed out of his combat attire and was wearing a plain white t-shirt that had short black sleeves and a black trim around the collar. (A baseball shirt I guess?) He also had donned maroon shorts and his favorite bright red converse chucks. His Stygian iron sword was sheathed and slung across his right shoulder. He sat cross-legged, his elbows resting on his knees and his chin on his hands. He stared at the camp as if in a gaze. His brother was messing around with the control panel and the wheel. He didn't care, he just wanted to get this trip over with...and he wanted to see Nicole. He'd missed her while he was away...and finally he got his chance to show her what he'd been doing...He'd even been hoping to impress her a little. Jay smiled at the thought and continued to wait for his friends to arrive.

Quentin's stuff was already on the ship. He had already said goodbye. He slowly made his way up Half-Blood hill, taking in the scenery as if this would be his last time seeing it. He looked up at the ship and stopped, what was he? A son of Apollo. He was a demigod. A hero! He could do this, even though the Fa- No! Don't go there. It was in your past. What they said meant nothing. He continued on and smiled, this was it. His first quest. Surrounded by some of the most important and powerful demigods in camp. He could do this. He looked up to Jay and yelled out, "Hey! How do I get up there?"

Jay smiled down at Quentin and snapped his fingers. Quentin quickly sunk into his own shadow and appeared in the shadow of a mast on the main deck. "There's also an emergency voice response ladder that launches from the back and on either side." Jay grinned. "Yeah, Hephaestus and I spent quite some time putting this baby together." He pointed towards the stairway, "You know the way to go. Get yourself set up, I'll call a meeting when the others arrive."

Quentin gasped when he was sucked into his own shadow and he shivered when he appeared on the ship. He looked at Jay and said, "I'll take the ladder next time. Son of Apollo, remember? That freaked the heck out of me." He dipped his head slightly and headed off down the stairs and to the infirmary.

Nicole walked up to Half Blood Hill, clutching the strap of her cross body bag. Her half sisters gave away some make-up last minute, as a parting gift. She spotted Jay on the mast and waved to get his attention. She wasn't entirely sure on how to get onto the ship. Turning back, she took in the camp; the cabins, the beach, the Big House. I'm sure gonna miss this place...I haven't been away from camp in so long. But it would be good for me to leave for a while, being cooped up there hasn't been too swell for me. With a dramatic flourish, Nicole curtsied to the camp, thanking it for the wonderful memories she's experienced there. It may be the last time she would ever see the camp again, knowing the luck demigods have outside of its safe barriers. She turned back around to Jay and waited for his instructions.

Jay began to laugh as Nicole curtsied at the camp. He loved little actions that she did like that. When she turned to him he winked and snapped his fingers. Just as Quentin had before, she sunk into her own shadow, but instead of appearing on the deck, she arose behind Jay, from his very own shadow. Jay turned and looked up with a goofy grin plastered on his face. "Sup" he said in an obvious poke-fun-of-cool-people fashion.

Nicole was about to stick her tongue out at Jay when she suddenly sunk into her shadow. "Woah." She said, trying to regain her balance as she teetered over slightly. She smiled at boyfriend then looked at her him with a serious expression. "What up my home dog?" She tried not to, but she cracked a smile.

Jay burst into laughter, stood up, and hugged Nicole. "Cmon!" he grabbed her hand and the started to sink into their shadows, "we should get to the lounge. Quentin will be waiting."

Quentin was sitting at the lounge table tinkering with some medical 'toys'. He scowled and shoved them back into his pocket, unsuccessful at what he was trying to do. He took a sip of Dr. Pepper and sat back, waiting for the others. He made a count in his head: Jay, 1; Nicole, 2; Anabelle, 3; Me, 4; Cory, 5. He sighed, he'd be the odd man out, unless he counted wrong. Quentin closed his eyes and took another sip of Dr. P. The son of Apollo froze suddenly as a vision came to him. He saw Cory arrive on the ship without a problem, he saw a pretty smooth journey. He saw River. That can't be right. River is gone. He won't be coming back for a while... Then he saw Jason. His brother had dark circles under his eyes and it seemed like he had a more powerful aura surrounding him. Quentin couldn't explain it. He gasped as the visions stopped. He felt cold, like he always did after foresight visions. But it was different this time, more eerie, like an evil vision had made its way into his always good visions. He shook his head, It's probably nothing. Just me worrying about Jason is all. But still, that vision of River didn't seem right. Quentin just shrugged it off and looked at the clock, it had taken 5 minutes for the visions to pass. At least Nicole must be on the ship by now.

Everet, Jay's older brother, marched down the hallway. His Bow and quiver were slung across his shoulder and he wore his crimson uniform scruffily. He readjusted his black beanie and swept his exposed fringe to one side. Everet eyed up Quentin carefully as he entered the lounge. He sat down in a large black leather recliner and put his feet up. He began to light a cigarette when Jay walked in, Nicole at his side, hand in hand. Jay scowled at his brother, snatched the cigarette and crushed it in his hand before dropping it into his shadow. "We agreed that you would quit." he scolded The rings under Everet's eyes seemed to darken. "It's been a long night." Jay scowled once more at his brother. One minute Everet was all happy and annoyingly jokey and the next he was a dark and unpleasantly angry fellow. Jay then led Nicole to a couch and sat down. "Right. Who are we waiting for?"

Quentin looked up as Everet walked in. He analyzed the demigod carefully then sniffed slightly. This guy was obviously not one to mess with. He scowled, he hated smokers, it's like signing their own death warrant and then witnessing the people around them dying from second hand smoke. It's sick and gross. Perfect for a child of the underworld. He growled and then sat up straight as Jay asked his question, "Just Anabelle. Cory is away so I guess he'll just appear one of these days when he's done with whatever down in Hades. I heard a rumor that he's close to the Lord of the Dead. I wonder why that would be."

"Possibly a mission from Dad" Everet chimed in, "I mean, that's what we're about to go on so...it makes sense." "Hades has been getting a little paranoid," Jay continued, "Everet's right. He's been sending plenty of his children and soldiers and servants off on secret tasks. This particular one is in search of a crest. Namely the one on his Helmet of Darkness that actually makes it work. It was stolen, about a week ago, by some bandits working for the Titans."

Quentin just shrugged, "I always thought that Hades in particular hated demigods. But you know, free labor I guess." He gave a snort when Jay mentioned the crest, but was careful not to comment what he was thinking, he might piss off one of the sons of Hades.

Jay bit his lip and nodded slowly when Quentin snorted and talked about his father exploiting demigods. "Whatever the reason," he said with gritted teeth because all of a sudden his patience had been worn thin with a combined effort of his brother's ignorance and the insults directed towards his father, "we finish this job as if it were any other quest." He tilted his head to one side and cracked his neck, and repeated with a similar motion to the opposite side before straightening himself up. "Good talk, now as soon as Anabelle gets here we can leave."

Anabelle had gotten lost in thought while putting a few of her things into her backpack. And the next thing she knew, several minutes had passed, and she was way late for getting to the ship. Gods! Grabbing her things, she flew out of her cabin. She ran up Halfblood Hill, actually feeling excited to be leaving camp. It had been a while since she had gone on a quest and she was glad to get out again. Dressed in jeans, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes, she jumped aboard and hurried to meet the others. She ran into the room and slid into one of the seats. "I'm here. Just..uh, got held up...yeah, we can leave now."
