Samantha paced back and forth, a small ball of light glowing from her hand. She thought of what Oliver said. How diffrent she was from other Apollo kids and how dad wouldn't tell her why. Frustrated she threw the small light at a dummy which immediatly burst into flames. "What makes me so diffrent?"

Nick walked into arena. "That's better than I can do." She said with a smile. "Though maybe with training, I'll get there." She studied her. "Everyone's different in a way Samantha."

Samantha smiled, "thanks Nicki. I'm just frustrated. I have a natural ability for something that would take years of training just to do that", she waved her hand toward the dummy, "not including my prophetic powers." She sat down and restered her head on her hand, "I'm just wondering why dad made me so specail."

"What's wrong with being special? He saw something in you Samantha, and he knew you'd do great things one day. So he made you special. If you ask me, that's a honor. And why are you frustrated? Now you've got years of training out of the way. I'd do anything to do that. Well, not anything, but you get what I mean. But I've gotta put years to training to get there. Not that I'm complaining. If it wasn't for Dad letting me train at Olympus, I wouldn't be one of the best archers in camp." She sat down next to her. "How's your archery coming, anyway?" She asked, trying to help Samantha get her mind of things.

Samantha thought about it, "nothings wrong with being special, but what if dad was wrong? What if I get my self in to something I can't get out of?", She tried to make it sound as casual as possible to keep Nicki from wondering if she was. "Now that I think about it, I don't think I've shot an arrow since before Ivy arrived. Maybe . . . ", her sentence trailed off. She stood up to go to the targets, "Thanks for the advice Nicki you don't know how much I really needed it."

(Im adding Freddy (Flynn, Freddy's his real name) back in here)
Freddy walked slowly into the arena. He had recently recovered from being Ivy's prisoner. He was tortured because he was Norse. His body ached. He looked up and saw two girls, one of them he knew; Nicki. The other he did not. He brushed his red hair out of his eyes and approached the girls.
"Hey, Nicki." He greeted, then turned to Samantha. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Freddy Zytroux; son of Thor."

She smiled. "Dad wouldn't make a mistake. He knew what he was doing. Come on, I'll give you some pointers." She grabbed her bow, and jogged over to the targets. "And your welcome. I sometimes have a way with words. Hey Freddy!" She called, then put an arrow on her string.

"Nice to meet you", Samantha said putting an arrow on her slack bow. She slowly pulled the arrow back then concentrated on it's tip letting her powers make it glow with a soft light. She let it soar toward the target but when it hit it didn't burst in to flames like the dummy. It seemed to go back to it's normal state in mid-air and hit a few inches left of the center. She sighed, Samantha Herling daughter of Apollo."

"Close Samantha. And you'll just have to work on your powers. Lift the bow a little." She adjusted Samantha's form slightly, then stepped back. "Now try. You should hit the center."

Samantha let Nicki reposition her bow. When she was finished Samantha put every bit of concentration and feeling into her arrow. It slowly began to brighten, until it seemed like the arrow was as bright as a strong flashlight. She let it go. It hit the target dead center burning the shaft. She lowered her bow, pleased with her progress and finally looked at Freddy. He looked like he had been through a lot. He was bruised and looked exhausted. "You look like you need a rest", she commented, "by the pattern of the bruising I'm guessing tortured?"

Samantha smiled and shrugged, "I'm a natural. I've been at camp since I was born. Believe it or not the battle with Ivy was my first big fight", her smile faded, "My mom died giving birth. Then dad took me out of the hospital to keep me safe."

"Well, you did well." A comforting smile appeared on her face. "I knew both my parents, but they were the normal type. Good, but not great. I wasn't really close with them."

Freddy grimaced. "Yeah...I was..-but I don't need to rest. I've been resting for days." He listened to the story about her mother. "I'm sorry to here that. I hate my family. They find out I'm half-god and try to sell me off as a side show." He looked at both of the girls. "But everyone has issues with family and friends. Even if you don't know it."

"Yeah." Nicki agreed. "I'll see ya guys later. I need to go find River." Grabbing her bow, she jogged off.
