Katarina sat by herself at her new home. She sat on a slope that overlooked the other training demigods. When she first got here two months ago, she had no idea what it was or why she was drawn here. It just felt right to be there. Or, at least, that's what she thought. Kat found herself not making many friends. Was it really her fault that she grew up as a normal kid in normal America while everyone else trained like vikings? It wasn't, but everyone looked at her like it was. Friendless and not wanting to train, she was alone, and it was killing her. For the moment, she was entertaining herself honing in on whatever conversation she could hear. Which was all of them.

(Oh, I just kinda assumed that I shouldn't because the conversation is really far gone. Plus, I (and my character) am pretty new to this Norse stuff, so I wouldn't be much of assistance... But, if you don't mind, I might post there.)

Audrey was wandering around camp, being one to observe what was going on so she was up to date. She happened to walk by the slope, and noticed a figure of a girl sitting upon it. She recognized her, like she did anyone. It was Katarina; a girl who was relatively new to camp. From casual observation, she noticed that the girl was never in the arena training, nor was she talking much to others. Audrey realized she was much like herself, in a way. She decided to make conversation with the girl. She wasn't sure how yet, but she started up the slope anyways.

Katarina's over-sensitive ears- as most would say- instantly picked up the sound of someone treading heavily. She would have dismissed it, as no one would ever really be straying from camp like her, the 'rebel.' But the sound got closer, closer being still a few feet away to her. She sighed, laying down lazily on the grass. Looks like the camp had finally noticed that she wasn't ever near anywhere she was supposed to be. Might as well face what she knew was going to happen sooner or later.

Audrey awkwardly sat down a foot away from Katarina. "Uh...hello. There's a nice view from here." She stated, looking around as far as she could see. "My name's Audrey. I'm a daughter of Njord. You're Katarina, daughter of Heimdall right?"

Katarina sits up, intrigued that this Audrey girl knew who she was and didn't immediately force her into training. "Yeah, but you can call me Kat." She says to her. The sentence sounded strange coming off her lips. She assumed it was because she hadn't told anyone to call her 'Kat' in over two months. "How did you know who I am? No one here knows me, or they at least pretend not to."

Audrey nodded, remembering that for reference. When Kat asked her how she knew who she was, she shrugged. "I know of everyone here. Their name, age, parentage. I scout the camp, finding out things about people. Not for gossip though, just so I know what people are like. I keep a little book too." She thought about it. "That sounded creepy. Sorry. There's just not much to do around here." It was weird. Something about this girl made it easy to talk to her. She wasn't sure it was a good thing... I think I'll add that to the book later.

"Tell me about it." Kat grumbled when Audrey mentioned the camp having nothing to do. She laid back down on the grass. "Maybe I could look at this book sometime. I've been looking to have some common ground with anyone since I've come here." She jokes, putting her hands above her head as she tried to make shapes out of the clouds.

She nodded. "Sure. You'll be the first to see it." She shuffled her feet around, trying to think of something else to say.

"Here," Kat says, patting the grassy spot to her right. "Come sit and cloud watch with me." it was an offer, but probably the friendliest one she had made since being at camp. She even smiled at Audrey.

((I was already sitting down, but okay xD.))
Audrey smiled back. "Thanks." She looked at the clouds for a while, then turned to Kat. "So...I was told that you touring Europe and found yourself at the gates of camp. I was wondering, how did you know to come in? Since you had no foresight of being a child of a Norse god from what I heard."

((Sorry, hehe.))
Kat turned to Audrey, feeling defensive when she asked about that. She didn't exactly know why and just blamed it on the fact that no one had cared to ask her a personal question. "Uh, I don't exactly know. But, you have to think, if I somehow wandered away from my perfectly normal family and life and wound up here, there's got to be a reason why I ended up here. I was curious as to how I got here, so I came in. I sounds stupid, but that's what I felt when I came here."

"Sorry if the question made you uncomfortable." Audrey said softly. She looked at Kat and nodded, thinking about that the girl said. "Makes sense. I don't think it sounds stupid. The gods have a way of bringing their children here when the time comes."

"Sometimes I wish my father would have just left me alone..." She mumbled bitterly in return as she returned to looking at the sky.
