Aaron blinked in slight irritation, "It isn't used to taking my orders, and its the first time I've reached this level, so its not comfortable taking my orders."
The dragon beast roared in anger.

Cory's form appeared in a shadowy fog which vanished after Cory's eyes opened. He smiled and yelled into the Library, "I'm home! Wakey wakey everyone!" The Library burst to life, or rather noise and light, as the lights kicked on and some helpful spirits started to tidy things up. He gave a nod to a few of the spirits and muttered something to a women spirit about nachos and a Coke. He climbed up some stairs and slowly began to relax. A week here would be nice. Right where he felt at home. Now where was his dog...? Suddenly a black mass of a dog jumped on him, sending him flying down a small set of stairs. He laughed and got up, looking down at the black lab and petting the dog's head, "I missed you too Shadow!" (i think that's right...I really don't want to check right now) He led his dog up to his room and he collapsed on his bed, Shadow curled up next to him and closed his eyes. Finally he could get some real sleep, something he'd been lacking for the past few weeks. He dreamed about his time before he met Anabelle. His travels, his quests for Nyx or Hades. The curse. The closet. The demigods. This didn't faze him, because he knew before good there must be bad. So then he started to dream about Anabelle and he smiled in his sleep and curled up under the covers. Sleeping and dreaming peacefully about the love of his life.

Cory woke up basically smiling. He was home for a while and he had nothing to worry about. Erebus couldn't get to him, Hades didn't want him running missions right now, and Nyx was just glad to see her son in the Underworld. Cory yawned and stretched before grabbing a pair of old, comfortable Levi's, a t-shirt with the Van's logo on it, boxers, and socks. He ran into the bathroom and took a nice long, warm shower. He got out, got his clothes on, grabbed his signature gray hoodie, and put a beanie on his head. He walked down to the library where it was bustling with ghosts coming in and out. The pleasures of being a heroic ghost, or a good ghost. He stopped to speak to some of them. Saying hello to heroes of old who's names have been forgotten by humans. One said a note was left in the kitchen by Lord Hades. He nodded thanks and ran off to the kitchen. He found the note and gave a chuckle, just like old times, Hades was inviting Cory to join him for a meal with some other minor gods to discuss some matters. Cory beckoned for one of the ghosts and said, "Would you please go to Lord Hades and tell him I will see him tonight. Until then I will get reacquainted with my home." The ghost nodded and Cory went off to iris message Anabelle to tell her that she got there without trouble.

Cory cursed as blood dripped down his cheek, the bloody level 30 training ghosts were wearing him down. He spun his sword a few times before going at it again. He slashed through the first three ghosts, no problem.
"Common boy! It's just level 30! Those demigods must be making you weak!"
Cory growled, "Shut up Tiodius! You never even made it past level 13 at my age." He swung his blade through the last ghost, sweat dripping on his forehead. He sheathed his sword and put his hand up, the shadows sent the ghosts away."
The silver haired boy frowned and then jumped down from where he was standing on a small balcony, "Yeah, yeah. You don't need to point it out, Jason. I was just surprised you hadn't gotten to level 50 yet. You're out of practice man." Cory chuckled and placed a hand on his friend's shoulder,
"That, I have to admit. I haven't had shadow battles in ages! Ghosts are a lot more challenging then demigods, that's for sure. So anyways, where's Pya? (Pie-a) Shouldn't you be off to sweep your girl off to Hades' palace soon? Plus I've missed training with her, she's the real challenge. Gods she's like a daughter of Athena...but of the Underworld."
Tiodius laughed and said, "Get off my back bro, I've got to get spiffed up for Lord Hades before I can even look at his daughter. Shouldn't you have a date? A kid with your looks and legacy? I'm surprised you don't have the ladies lined up and on hold."
Cory smirked and said, "I do have a girlfriend, Dius, but she's taking care of the camp. I've only got eyes for her. And hey, you're only like three years older then me, don't call me kid."
Tiodius laughed and said, "Alright, fine. I've got to get back to my house up above to shower and get ready. I'll see you at the Palace." With that the son of Hypnos was gone. Cory chuckled and sighed. He took short walk from the training grounds of Thanatos to the library. He showered and got dressed in a nice button up dark blue shirt and a pair of black jeans. He slipped on his nice Vans and grabbed his weapons. He smiled and then bowed slightly, becoming swallowed by shadows and he bowed now before Hades.
"Lord Hades, an honor as always, sir."
The lord of the Underworld gave a curt nod, "Charming as usual young demigod. Please make yourself at home. The guests will be arriving soon." Cory nodded and headed toward his usual spot. He turned slightly to Hades,
"If I may ask, Lord, why is it that you have called me here? What does this have to do with me?"
Hades tapped his fingers on his chair and said, "It has to do with your camp, your past, and what my son has been up to. Now please sit, the guests have arrived."
Cory looked up and saw Tiodius and Pya hand in hand, and several minor gods including but not limited to his mother, Erebus, Lethe, Styx, and Hecate. Cory also noticed several demigod children of the underworld, some he recognized, others not so much. Pya sat next to Cory and Tiodius sat on Pya's left. Pya gave Cory a small kiss on the cheek, a meaningless gesture to the old friends and he smiled, "Hey Pya! I see you two have finally decided to become official."
Pya laughed and pushed some of her dark blonde bangs out of her face, "Yeah, shut up, Jason. I heard you got a girlfriend, so you can't be teasing me and not expect teasing right back."
Cory laughed and looked up as Hades began to speak:
"Gods and goddesses of the Underworld, our powerful children. I have called this meeting together to discuss the matter of Kronos, but more importantly the new...how shall we say? Development of Cory Jason, son of Nyx. But first, let us feast in welcoming home some of our own...personal heroes. The heroes of the underworld."
The gods and half-bloods cheered and ate, became social and had a pretty good time. Hades brought many points to the table, Cory's new power development, the time struggle (whatever Jay was talking about in the Finally Home thread), and just some other things going on in the Underworld. Cory managed to say that the camp was doing fine, all the Underworld Children there were doing fine, and there was always room for more. Soon the time came to an end. Cory said goodbye to Pya and Tiodius for the day and headed back to the Library of Nyx. His head hit the pillow and he was almost asleep until he remembered what had been bugging him all day.
"Shit! I forgot to Iris Message Anabelle! I guess it can wait a bit longer. Maybe I can introduce Pya and Tiodius...meeeh...too tired to think. Ghosts! Take a break. I'll see you all in the morning!" The lights dimmed, and the Library was no longer full of noise. Cory pulled the sheets over his head and let his dog curl up at his feet. He smiled, he hadn't had such a good time in a really, really long time.

Cory was now in that half conscious state, where he didn't want to open his eyes but he could hear what was going on.
A male voice spoke with a chuckle, "I think we should set him afloat in the River Styx. He would float all the way down to the edge of Hades' palace...hehehe."
A female voice spoke next, after a small smack and yelp were heard from the male, "No! Father has enough to worry about, he doesn't need to see Cory in his pajamas. Plus that would take away what ever pride he has left."
Cory opened his right eye to see Tiodus and Pya hovering over his head. He growled, "What do you guys need?"
Tiodus laughed, "Well hello to you too Mr. Sunshine! We were thinking about going up to the mortal world for the day. We wanted to know if you wanted to come too. Pya convinced a daughter of Hecate to come with us. She'll probably want company."
Cory sat up and rubbed his eyes, "That depends on where you're going. Hell no if we're going to Texas, I don't want to go there again. Hell yes if we're going somewhere with snow and mountains."
Pya laughed and said, "We were planning on going to Seattle. There's not going to be snow, but we wanted to see the Space Nettle and The First Starbucks. And all of that stuff."
Cory sighed, "Fine. I'll meet you guys at that seafood place we went to when I was 10. Just give me a bit to get ready. Wait did you say you invited a girl too?"
Tiodus laughed and said, "Just hurry up, Jason, we aren't going to wait forever." The son of Hypnos wrapped an arm around Pya's waist and snapped his fingers. They vanished with a CRACK! noise and Cory shook out his hair. He slipped on a pair of slightly ripped jeans, put on a tee-shirt. He slipped on a fleece jacket and then put his hoodie on over it. He put on some finger-less blue gloves and put a beanie hat on over his dark blonde hair.
He slipped his crystal shard into his pocket and sighed. He glanced at the closet before tilting his head slightly and having the shadows engulf him. He appeared on a dock of Seattle and walked into a seafood place. He smiled at the waiter and walked to his table. He sat down next to Tiodus and across from a girl he didn't know, but recognized.
Pya gestured to the girl, "This is Ava, daughter of Hecate. She is a newly discovered demigod and we thought you could show her the ropes today while Tiodus and I look around. You don't have to be with us the entire time, but we'll be close enough to contact, alright?"
Cory growled, of course this was a training thing. The mortal world was the best place to begin, so many natural shadows to manipulate. He gave and nod and said, "I don't care what I'm doing as long as I get some clam chowder."
A smile broke on Ava's face and she laughed under her breath. Tiodus glanced over at Pya, having a very short eye conversation with her before smiling, "We knew you'd say that. So we ordered some for you to go. We'll see you guys back in the Underworld!" He and Pya got up and left the seafood place hand in hand. Cory glanced a Ava before taking a sip of his water.
Ava just looked at her hands and said, "So, I hear you're a really strong demigod." Cory just nodded in reply as Ava kept talking, "I was just told about a week ago that I was a daughter of a goddess. I didn't believe it at first, but then I met my half-brother who fought in some war called the Titan war and he explained everything to me and it finally made sense." Cory raised an eyebrow, could she be talking about Alabaster?
She continued, "So what are we doing first?" The chowder came in a to-go cup and Cory stood, "First, I'm going to show you a good time. Then I'll show you how much you can really do." Ava smiled and stood up as well. She took her hood off and revealed flowing dark brown hair and a pale but beautiful face. Cory glanced at her for a moment but then snorted. She was pretty, but Anabelle was much, much prettier in his opinion. He glanced around, feeling slightly threatened by being so exposed in a mortal area.
He offered his arm and said, "Let's take a walk. I'll explain some other stuff to you that your half-brother may have missed. If we walk together and appear to be a couple, monsters may pass us without any trouble. But you can't be too sure." He gave a weak smile and Ava laughed slightly. She grabbed his arm with her hand and said, "Whatever you say, oh wise master." Cory cringed a bit and started to explain how the powers of Hecate work. They grabbed a coffee at the first Starbucks and sat, sipping coffee on a bench in a park. Ava talked non-stop, keeping the conversation going, while Cory closed himself off to her. He nodded and spoke every now and again, explaining some stuff to her before she finally said, "So can I control shadows like you and Pya can?"
This took Cory by surprise and he said, "Not...uhm...not really. Hecate is more of spells and stuff, shadows are more along the lines of Nyx, Hades, and Erebus. Not all Underworld children have the same powers, but those three have very similar ones, varying from child to child, depending on parentage. I can't really help that much with your power training. Pya and Tiodus and some of the other children of the Underworld that live up here or down there can help you. It's just not my thing to train other demigods...I'm not a great teacher."
Ava seemed deep in thought. After a few moments of quiet she said, "Do you live in the Underworld?"
Cory hesitated, "Yes...and no. I live mostly at Camp Half-Blood. Most, if not all, the Underworld children live there until they are old enough to leave. Unless they are exiled. I didn't live there until recently because I'm a -erm- special case."
Ava nodded and then changed the subject. They walked around Seattle for several more hours before Cory said, "I think it's best for you to go to Camp Half-Blood. You can train in safety there and I think you'll make lots of friends."
Ava nodded and said, "Tiodus and Pya don't live there." Cory laughed and replied, "No, they have jobs and lives outside of Camp. They will be fine. I'll have them arrange to take you to Camp. You'll see me around once I'm done in the Underworld. If you talk to a girl named Anabelle, she'll get everything all set up for you. She's my girlfriend and if you tell her I sent you you'll be all settled in no time."
Ava smiled and said, "Thanks Cory, for everything." She waved goodbye before running off and meeting Pya and Tiodus nearby. Cory sighed and sat down in the grass. He needed to train in the Underworld, but he needed to be with Anabelle more then anything. He could stay in the Underworld for another week, then he would go back to Camp. He smiled and stood, climbing a nearby tree and leaned back against the trunk. He closed his eyes and drifted off to the smell of snow in the air and the lights of the city glowing across the bay.

Cory woke up stiff from sitting out in the cold all night and his hair had snow flakes in it. He laughed and went off to look for some warmth. He was still in Seattle and wanted to get something from Starbucks before he used a ton of energy getting from here to the other side of the country. He had decided that he would head back for camp right away. He already had his weapons on him so he didn't really need anything else.
He stopped in at a Starbucks and grabbed a breakfast sandwich and a hot chocolate. He ate quickly and quietly and then started to head back to the park when he heard someone behind him stop and he felt their stare on him. The person said, "Well well, issssssssn't thisssssss a nice ssssssurprissssse. Jussssst the demigod the masssster wassssss looking for." A second replied, "Yesssssss, he will be pleassssssed to ssssssee him again."
Cory took out his weapon and sliced through both of them, causing them to disintegrate and he ran for dear life. He was scared and frightened like a child was of spiders. He didn't look back but he climbed up into a tree to stop and breath, hoping he had enough energy to at least get to San Francisco and get help from Annabeth. He was focusing on his shadow beast when a voice above him spoke so eerily that he shivered, "Nice day for a hunt isn't it Master Link."
Cory looked up, only three people knew his code name, Hades, Tiodus, and HIM. The provider of missions, the guy who scared Cory. The man who ruined his life until Cory found something worth living for. Cory held his sword close, as if protecting it rather then the sword protecting him and he said, "Erik Pontius. What an unpleasant surprise."
Erik laughed and said, "Now, now Link. I'm not here to re-curse you, or order you to find my weak brother. I'm here to give you one last mission. And there is much more at stake then your own life or weapons this time, Link."
Cory couldn't help but wonder what it could be. But he knew if he asked he'd be marked and would have to carry out the mission no matter what. But he couldn't help it, "What do you mean more then my life?"
Erik laughed, "Well, the lives of your dearest friends. The lives of those Norse coming to America. Ugh, filthy barbarians. And of course, the life of your precious Anabelle."
Cory moved on that time and was instantly holding his sword to Erik's throat, "You harm her, it will be your last move. And then I will find your spirit in the Underworld and destroy it."
Erik laughed and just pushed Cory's blade away and said, "Come, come now. I'm not going to force you to do this. I'm giving you the option between taking the mission now, or taking it later. Here is the bottle. Open it when you decide. I wouldn't want to kill you just yet, you know where Aaron is hiding. But if some how you resist, I might take your life instead of this demigod's." He grinned evilly and vanished.
Cory flinched as Erik touched his sword and he took the bottle and slid it in his pocket. He held his stomach as if he were going to puke and then he relaxed and took out a drachma. He jumped out of the tree, put his sword away and found a fountain. He threw in the drachma and said, "Oh Iris, goddess of messages, accept my offering! Show me Anabelle!" An image appeared of his girlfriend in the hold of what looked like a ship.
