Amelia walked barefoot along the beach, with sandals in hand. It was perhaps her favorite spot in the entire world. It was night time, so most of the commotion had died out, so it was only her, her mind, and the night sky, illuminated by millions of stars. She cleared her mind, normally, she would start thinking of facts about the stars, and trying to find constellations, but tonight, she just wanted serenity. And she found it, it was beautiful. If only her fellow campers were able to just relax, and tune out their hectic lives for a few minutes. She thought they would benefit greatly from it.
She lay down in the sand, digging her toes into it, feeling the warm of the grains as they trickled in between her toes. The moon was particularly bright tonight, and radiated the entire area. It was gorgeous, just one of the many reasons she loved coming here.
She seemed to be entirely alone, maybe one of her peers would be smart and come enjoy the evening air. It was magical, and it was a shame to miss it. The air was crisp like autumn, and it was silent except for the chirping of the birds, and the hums of the crickets.

She snapped out of her trance when she heard distant footsteps. A boy appeared next to her. He asked her who her parent was, and almost immediately after asking, she replied, "Athena."
Realizing it was probably rather uncouth to not ask back, she did the same. "Who is your parent?"
She looked at the water and smiled. She hoped he was enjoying the beach as much as she was. This night was perfect. And nothing, or anybody, could change that. The way the trees at the edge of the sand lit up in the moonlight, the way the water glistened, the way the sand shone like diamonds, it truly was a magical place to be. And finally, somebody, other than her, would be able to experience it like she had these past years.
(Why, thank you! I consider myself to only be at the start of intermediate! <3)

Jacob smiled. "Looks like I have a new sister." He turned to look at the beautiful ocean. "It's gorgeus, isn't it?"

Jackson was walking by the beach, when he saw two people, Jacob and another girl. He decided to check it out. "Uh, hi. You're new?"

Amelia beamed when she discovered the boy was her brother. "I'm Amelia, by the way," she said formally introducing herself.
'It's gorgeous, isn't it?' the boy stated. She cocked her head to the side, with her greyish-blue eyes giving him a 'duh' look.
"Yes, it's exquisite. Kind of reminds me of home," she said, thinking back to the beaches where she spent many days of her childhood at with her father. "The beaches in LA are so amazing. The vibe the people give off is spectacular. If you are young it makes you feel like a 'big kid,' if you are old, it makes you feel twenty again." Amelia developed a dreamy gaze in those greyish-blue eyes of hers, thinking of the past. Her gaze was awakened when another boy came along.
"Hey," Amelia said, smiling warmly, to indicate that the new boy certainly was welcome. "Care to join us?" She patted the sand beside her and gestured that blonde head of hers towards the ever-maginifenct water, that still glistened with such rare beauty.

"Hey Jackson," Jacob said. "You know, I never asked who your parent is."

He smiled, the night sky making his gray eyes look dark blue. "Hades." He turned his attention toward Amelia, he tried not to be rude, so he introduced himself. "I'm Jackson Gray, and as you heard, son of Hades."

Amelia pulled her lips into a smirk. "Ooh, dangerous are we?" she said sarcastically to Jackson. The boy had intense eyes, whether they be grey, blue, or any color, they were just intense.
"So how old are you guys?" asked Amelia. She was keen to learn more about her fellow campers, especially since one was her sibling. Her greyish-blue eyes stared at the water. She was transfixed by it. To be able to see the simplicity of how the water rippled, how the blades of grass on the other side of the beach rustled in the wind, how the shadows of the trees zigzagged, and then put it all together, was amazing in every possible aspect.
Most people she met were deceived by her looks. They thought that any girl who looked like Amelia, (Which was rather offensive, in Amelia's opinion) would have no emotional depth, and be dumb, uninteresting, and a girly-girl. Sure, she had what most Americans would call, "Gorgeousness and beauty," but that really wasn't what mattered.

"15." Jackson answered. From where he was standing, her eyes seemed to glow. "Where you from?"

"Me too," Amelia said giving a small smile, her eyes never leaving the water. Eventually she looked up, "Sorry if I seem a bit crazy for staring off like that. I just like to observe. Oh, and I grew up in Los Angeles." Her dad used to always joke that she should take over for mother nature, since she was always outside. Amelia of course, disagreed out loud, but inside, those comments always made her feel special. "Let's get in the water," Amelia said, wrinkling her nose in playful way while laughing. She stood up, and took the ponytail holder around her wrist and put her long, blonde hair up into a messy bun. ((Could you guys fodder a bit, please? It's getting difficult to have Amelia react to the boys and what they are doing. Just give little descriptions about what they are doing that somehow hints into what they are feeling. xoxo))

Jackson raised an eyebrow at Jacob and smiled. "Swimming at night...I like this girl so far." He kicked off his converse and took off his shirt. He dove into a on coming wave. As he resurfaced, he saw Amelia. He got a warm feeling in his chest, but his stomach felt weird. He smiled cheesily at her.

Amelia rolled her eyes (playfully) as Jackson muttered something to Jacob. Before she knew it, Jackson was in the water below her smiling. She dropped her sandals, smirked, and ran towards the water, cannonballing into it. The cold water rushed past her face as she swam to the surface. She didn't care if her outift was ruined, she was having fun. That' what teenagers do, after all, isn't it? She laughed as she splashed at Jackson and gave him a smirk. The water felt amazing. It was cool and refreshing, and perfect in every other way. She turned back towards to the beach, and motioned for Jacob to join them. He should join in on the fun, as well. She went underwater again, letting the water energize her (Not like a child of Poseidon or anything!) and letting herself sit there a bit. After a few seconds she kicked gracefully to the surface. She loved swimming.

Jacob smiled weakly. He had many phobia's, and swimming is one of them. He thought back to the story of the Odyssey. Charybdis, Scylla, and even Calypso, the beautiful women who lured men to stay with her on her island forever. He thought of all the people who die in the ocean. All the monsters that lurk within it's depths. Even this beach could do harm. Spiders, heights, the underground, the ocean, was there anything he wasn't scared of?
"I'm f-fine thank you. You two l-lovebirds have fun."
