Practice makes Perfect (O~P~E~N) « Thread Started on Apr 1, 2009, 11:21pm »
Pandora swung at the air with incredible speed as her sword made contact with nothingness. There was no one to practice with and she felt slightly envious that everyone else had someone who would drop everything to practice with them practice with a......friend. The thought only mad her feel even worse she didn't want to be alone for the rest of her life. Sighing she began analyzing the sword looking at all the imperfections that were in it. She smirked to herself. Maybe it's a gift that Hephestaus gave his kids to see imperfections in things to make us seem better She thought to herself absentmindedly.

Jacob walked into the Arena, unnoticed by Pandora. He walked a little closer so he could use his air horn he borrowed from some Hermes kid. It was tricked out so it blew 8 times louder. He'd been using it on a couple of campers (which obviously didn't help his reputation) every hour. On the first note of the horn, Pandora whipped around and... Well... Let's put it this way: He should have been wearing his armour...

After bringing the new camper to the Big House, Percy continues his schedule and made his way to sword handling class. When he arrives, Percy finds Pandora and Jacob practicing. "Hey guys," Percy says, "Am I late?" "Yeah," Jacob says, "Where were you?" "New camper. I led her to the Big House so she could check in." Pandora tosses Percy some armor. "Thanks." Percy says. He puts on his armor and pulls Riptide out of his pocket. He opens the lid and the pen transforms into a three foot long sword. "Alright, let's fight." Pandora says.
Percy hadn't drank any water lately so he wasn't doing very good. Pandora found a weak spot in his armor and slashed. She made a pretty good sized cut, too. Percy rubbed his cut and blood appeared on his fingers. He wiped it off on his pants and they continued to fight. Pandora eventually won and Percy took a water break. Now he and Jacob started to fight. Jacob was a bit new to Camp Half Blood and he hadn't done much with with a sword, but he was pretty darn good for a newcomer at least. If Percy hadn't drank any water earlier, he would've been dead meat. Percy ended the fight with a trick that Luke had taught him: put the base of your sword on the opponents sword and push with all your might. Percy did it and Jacob's sword flew out of his hands. After the fight, Percy teached Jacob the trick and then Jacob challenged him to a rematch. Within the first five seconds, Jacob had already pushed the sword out of Percy's hand. "Whoa," Percy says, "It looks like you deserve a quest. Talk to Chiron about it, and if he refuses, tell him I sent you." "Okay." Jacob says and he rushes off to find Chiron. "I've go to admit," Percy tells Pandora, "He's pretty darn good." Pandora nods and they head to their next class.

Pandora looked at Percy skeptically sure Jacob did good now but a quest he was still pretty inexperienced this was his first year here. "Are you sure about this Jacob is still pretty new to this stuff" she whispered to him she was a little worried about Jacob but she didn't show it much. She heaved a heavy sigh and helped Jacob up tossing a water bottle to him and Percy. "Sorry I couldn't get anything else this was the best the Hermes cabin could steal" she admitted with a shrugg knowing Percy won't mind drinking water since of who he is.
